From 1987 to 1989, in addition to Ted's usual dance, funk and jazz gigs, he also worked in the pit orchestra for the Portland Civic Theater under the direction of conductor, Jon Newton. Through the '90s, Ted remained based out of Portland, OR, performing in funk, rock and jazz bands throughout the Northwestern United States until 1998, when he relocated to Reno, NV.
