    Artist History
GARLIC: *The Twisted Truth* A rock & roll odyssey that began not quite three years ago. A power-trio with serious pop! A band with a drummer who plays a stand up kit, and sings lead! A sound so fresh and polished, it betrays the fact that Joey, Randy and Glenn have only been a team since 1998. Bone crunching power chords candy coated with angelic harmonies, a live show that gives new meaning to adrenalin! If the Beatles and Led Zeppelin gave birth to a bastard child, GARLIC would be its name. In the summer of 1998, Joey Anderson took a trip to Hollywood California to clear his head and make plans. Joey hailed from New York where he was giving private drum lessons and writing songs... lots of songs. He wanted to put together a band. A band that was real. A band that played really played. A band that would look, sound and act like rock n roll incarnate. While devouring a snow cone one hot hazy evening at Magic Mountain amusement park, Joey spotted a platform strutting, purple clad cat making his way thru the crowd. GARLIC seeds were planted that night while Joey and bass player Randy Gregg discussed bellbottoms, CHiPs and world domination. Within weeks, Joey and Randy were in New York planning their assault. Joey named the band GARLIC because once while in Paris, Randy had been attacked by a vampire. It was that very substance that saved his life. Randy designed the GARLIC logo and starting passing out flyers. Both of Randys parents were in-house animators with the legendary Hanna-Barbera studios during the 60s & 70s. Finding a suitable guitarist proved to be somewhat of a challenge. Running ads in the trade papers went nowhere fast. Randy states: -The music scene is pretty barren as far as anything good goes these days, especially guitar players-, a quote overheard by Glenn Walsh while shopping for soy milk in a lower east side bodega. After a lengthy argument, along with a small wager, an impromptu jam session was arranged for that very night. Glenn proved his guitar hero status right from the get-go. His uncle Jed had been playing the blues up and down the Bible belt for over twenty years. His tutoring turned Glenn into a six-string savior and Randy still owes Glenn two bucks. In 1998, the band released their debut effort -STINKS-. It contained power pop gems such as =Smile-E-Face=, =Drown= and an undeniably rockin cover of the Cheap Trick classic =Elo Kiddies=. Steady gigs across the tri-state area and a trip south of the border cemented the bands rep as a savage live act. For Christmas 2000, the boys released their sophomore effort on the newly formed indie label Slipped Disc Records. To point out highlights is futile. =I m Already A Star=, =Sign In The Road= and =Dirty= all rock in a royal way. Recalling the great melodic guitar crunch rock of the Beatles, Cheap Trick, and the Babys but with GARLIC cloves added on for good measure. The group sports more polish than a gymnasium floor, yet still retains a mammoth sense of rock -n- roll decadence, GARLIC is the future of rock because simply put, rock needs GARLIC.
