Artist History
Ampop is a electro-pop group from Reykjavík, which was founded in 1998 by Birgir Hilmarsson & Kjartan F. Ólafsson. After 3 months they released two songs on a collection CD, which was called Flugan (i.e.The Fly) and was released by Error musik, Iceland. Although Ampop started writing music in the year 1998, they never played officially. It wasn´t until they released their first LP/CD; "Nature is not a virgin", that they began performing live. Their music can best be described as electronic, experimental pop.
Ampop has performed with artists such as Múm, Gus Gus, Plastik, Opiate(a.k.a. Thomas Knak), Kikkert and many more. |
