Artist History
The Altaira's were formed in 1999 when guitarist/vocalist Brent Felix & bassist
Noelle Butkus (yes she is related to Dick Butkus), decided to form a band that
shared their love of indie rock and britpop music. They soon added Ryan
Weisbrock, of Disintegrated Einstein fame, on lead guitar and Bob Hill on drums. Taking their name from the female character Altaira Morbius in the
classic 1950's sci-fi film 'Forbidden Planet', the foursome quickly formed a small
but dedicated following. In January of 2001, the Altaira's recorded their debut EP 'Her Galaxy' at Planet of
Sound in Hartford. The foursome are currently working on new material for their first full length
cd 'Astro Motel'.
