Press Reviews
"Spectacle Experiment does a great job recapturing the fuzzy angst of Sonic Youth, while putting a whole new spin on it with mopey albeit danceable melodies ala Portishead. Controlled, Nine Inch Nails-like anger also runs through the band's strong indie debut, ``Just in Time for Nothing.'' Also like Nine Inch Nails, Spectacle Experiment is pretty much a one-man band, multi-instrumentalist Hadrian Mordecai, with special guests in the studio and on stage.
On some of Mordecai's songs, such as ``Just Like You,'' there's a healthy dose of punk underneath a delicious gnarl of feedback. Then there's haunting acoustic tunes, such as ``Last You'll Hear From Me,'' making for a nice mix of mangled beauty swathed in rage and sadness."
