Artist History
It's a November cold night in the Cascine Park, nestled in the outskirts
of Firenze.... Inside Meccanò Disco Club, MFOX is feeding aural nourishment to
the flock of partiers present at the friday night event called "SuperEva Party". "Filter"
by Jan Driver is being sprayed through the speakers into the moving
dancefloor, and the crowd greets it with outstretched arms and
upturned smiles. MFOX clasps his hands and shakes his head during
the song's breakdown, visibly overcome. His passion and energy spill
out through his music, working the crowd into a frenzy, taking the party to a new level.
MFOX DJ started out as a guitar player (and I still am!) loving the Beatles and Genesis. By that time (1986) I would have loved to mess around with samplers and such similar stuff, but that was the time of Fairlight CMI and Synclavier, whose prices were the same as an expensive apartment, so I decided to leave that stuff for my dreams! :-)
After having played with lots of bands and done a lot of teaching (guitar and music), I decided that the time was right to change my scene. So I put
a studio with some friends, and we started out with Balasutra, a very interesting and original live psychedelic trance project. We have recorded for Spirit Zone, a very cool German indie label, and our best track, "Twilight 99" was featured on "Global Psychedelic Trance 4".
Another track, "Afterauar", was produced along with Roby J and featured in an Italian compilation made by Stik Records, "Stik Compilation Vol. 2". In the meanwhile, our work was graced by the input and help of great DJ's like Francesco Farfa and Francesco Zappalà, whose incredible talent has been really invaluable to us. |
