Artist History MY FATHER STARTED ME AT THE EARLY AGE OF NINE, BY BUYING ME MY FIRST GUITAR. OF COURSE HE WAS A MUSCIAN ALSO. HE WAS HOSTING A HOOTENANNY, (MANY YEARS AGO) AND I REMEMBER GETTING ON STAGE WITH THEM AND ACTING LIKE I COULD PLAY THE GUITAR. AS I GREW OLDER, EVERY DAY WAS SPENT TEACHING MY SELF HOW TO PLAY THE GUITAR. AT THE AGE OF 15, MY FATHER TOLD ME HE LOST HIS LEAD GUITAR PLAYER AND THAT I WAS GOING TO PLAY LEAD GUITAR FOR HIM WITH HIS BAND. I HAD NEVER PLAYED LEAD GUITAR, SO I HAD TO FUMBLE AND STUMBLE AROUND. AT THE AGE OF 16 I WROTE MY FIRST SONG, "BLUE PARADISE". FUNNY THOUGH UNTILL RECENTLY I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO WRITE MUCH. DURING THE EARLY 80'S I TOURED WITH A BAND CALLED "MIDWEST EXPRESS". AT THAT TIME I WAS PLAYING THE STEEL GUITAR. THIS INSTRUMENT IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, (OTHER THAN MY WIFE"! SO NOW I WRITE AS MUCH AS I CAN AND RECORD AS MUCH AS I CAN. HOPEFULLY SOON I CAN GO BACK TO DOING MUSIC FULL TIM

Group Members THE LIGHTNING CREEK BAND these harmonies are breath taking, they are certainly the group to be watched. nelson larkin commented on these boys in positive fashion, they are in demand, they play and sing it all. this is the best from servel bands, studio work is when they are at thier best, writing songs with that flavor that the big names have--only one way for these boys to go and thats straight up. antique records is working to get lightning creek a major distribution deal, this is one album that you don' want to pass up. listen to the lyric on "since you've been gone" for that surprise ending that is danny bells way with a song--marty smith has that up town style in his writing and it is unique--they are presently opening for some big names but not for long--listen to "lightning creek" and i guarantee you will love them. producer-gene strasser with antique records has spoken.
