Press Reviews
"Face of Convention" is a smooth track that though it doesn't really hit you hard, it will definitely control your brain. Much like the sound of Pizzicato Five, this song is based around sensual female vocals and a seriously catchy though simple guitar melody. All in all it is a song that is definitely worth your listen. I really like the vocals on this track . . . the female harmony vocals really give this song flavor, and makes you feel really good. I assume that's where they got their band name. Anyway, the vocals really lend themselves well to the style, and complement the music perfectly.
Speaking of the music, I rarely hear music that is so minimal that keeps my attention this well. It is far too common for good songs like this to veer off in a bad direction, or they lose touch with the simplicity, becoming suddenly cloying or overpowering. Not so with "Face of Convention". This is definitely a proper mix, the music is given just as much power as the vocals, without ruining the sound. In the end, it's the kind of track you could find yourself listening to while you work, an easy kind of sound that won't distract you with overkill.
The production is crisp, and though there sometimes tends to be a little bit too much reverb in places (which causes things to echo a bit too much), it isn't much of a detraction from the overall quality.
In the end, my verdict is a good one. Go check out this track, and any others they've got on their page. It will be worth your time, and you're sure to feel better when you're done listening than you did when you started. Excellent work, Good.
