Artist description
Formed in 1997 in Pennsylvania, Grey AM has seen it all; from touring the U.S. to playing their hometown, from fire breathing to flooring the crowd with their own unique style and sound. With the strength and dedication that is only matched by their talent, Grey AM has spent the past four years gaining musical momentum at an exponential pace. With 3 full US tours and several Midwest and East Coast tours under their belt, they have the experience and dedication to achieve long term goals. They have paid their dues to the fickle gods of rock’ n ‘roll with their share of van breakdowns in the middle of nowhere, sleepless nights on the road, booking their own tours, dealing with the inevitable line up changes, and have still come out on top. Tour after tour, night after night, fest after fest, they have developed themselves into professionals, playing with such bands as Farside, Lifetime, Hatebreed, Promise Ring, Shades Apart, New Found Glory, Digger, Mid Carson July, Thursday, Juliana Theory, Grade and D.R.I.
Grey AM has released numerous splits as well as 2 of their own CDs. Their discography includes a debut full length CD on Fiddler Records, the original home of New Found Glory and The Agency and a split 7" with Fueled by Ramen's Mid Carson July. A split with the likes of The Juliana Theory (an Epic/Sony Recording artist), and One Line Drawing (Ex-Far member Jonah also an Epic Recording artist), was released in January of 2000 on One Day Savior Recordings and has sold over 5000 copies. Later in 2000, the EP "With Matches Lit" was released on Law of Inertia Records. A split with Wisconsin's Ruined in a Day is currently in the works on Alone Records, and will be released by the year's end. Grey AM continues to create and capture their unique sound and the energy of their live show within the studio. By working with producers and studios, they have rounded out their experience as a band who is living and breathing music.
Grey AM is no stranger to college radio stations, and has experience working with the media, getting the word out through radio, magazine, and web interviews as well as live reviews. With their new web site, www.GreyAM.com being launched November 1, 2001, they continue to promote themselves to fans new and old alike. Fans know that Grey AM brings the sounds, action, and sight of a real arena rock show to them. Grey AM is passionate and proud of their music being for the people and for themselves.
With musical influences and inspirations ranging from Kiss, Jethro Tull, and Stevie Ray Vaughn, to Jawbox Rocket from the Crypt, and Jawbreaker, to Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and DMX, Grey AM draws them together to create their own unique style with an unmistakable stage presence. They connect with the crowd with their lyrics and make their pulses quicken with their music. In the end, fans leave with their heads pounding, their hearts racing, their T-shirt soaked with sweat and an idea of what rock-n-roll really means.

Press Reviews
Review of With Matches Lit:
First of all, the design and layout of this disc is fantastic. I say this because it's what attracted me to the disc. As luck would have it, the six songs on With Matches Lit, the most notable of which is the anthem-ready, "Minnesota Fist Fire", more than adequately backed up the decision. High strung indie rock that runs on discordant guitars and a heavy rhythm section that keeps the chaos grounded. The impassioned vocals could be a little higher in the mix but, overall, this follows a path dotted by landmarks to Fugazi, Sonic Youth and a host of latter day post-punk bands. It's a good path. - Spank Zine
