Artist description
Efatha
1. V - to be open; to understand; to gain revelation
Greek derivative - from the word "Eph' Eph' ata"
2. N - a Celtic Folk group
This definition encompasses the spirit of the Celtic band Efatha. Efatha has been actively performing over three years and has recently released their first full length recording This Is What You Get hailed by critics as inspiring, moving, and unique.
The talent and experience that went into this album is clearly evident. Efatha is Scott Hertzog (guitar/vocals), Kristen Anselmo (vocals/hand percussion), Jess Kormos(cello), Bill "the Welshman" Lewis(tin whistle/penny whistle/harmonica), and Steve Smoker (percussion/bass). Together they produce a lyrical and instrumental tapestry, blending elements of Celtic music and modern folk. This refreshingly different sound has gained Efatha recognition as something different and unique.
