Artist History
REZYN began forming in 1997 when guitarist Mike "Maddog" Mills and long time friend Tony "Stoney" Herbs(t) began collaborating their musical ideas. They found a common ground between Maddog's choppy guitar riffs and Tony's melodic approach. Months later, they discovered he talents of Win Wartanyan, the "Mighty Mouse" of drumming, who enjoyed playing in a local drumline pounding out "Worldly Beats". Heavily inspired by Win's drumming, they asked him to join, but lacked a bass player to complete their sound. After a long search, they found bassist Kictren "Kit" Henry who had the ideas and attitude they were looking for. They immediately clicked and agreed to have no boundries in their experimentation with music.
Thus, was created the concept of REZYN: a force of individuals who create music as a whole with no regard to a specific style. REZYN is more than a name...It's and attitude; a way of thinking. With their massive bass, harsh riggorous riffs, severe unrelenting drumming and extreme vocals is a power and emotion that can't be denied. REZYN is ready to share with the world the music they love to play so much!

Press Reviews
..."Opening this all day event was the tribal meets melodic sound of Rezyn who stepped on the concrete stage to a lighter, milling crowd at around one o' clock in the afternoon. Featuring guitarist Mike Mills, vocalist Tony Herbst, drummer Win Wartanyan, and bassist Kictren Henry, Rezyn actually produces a rather unique sound which blends together several different influences and themes into one mix. Offering plenty of tribal-esque drum beats to a chunky, loud, blasted guitar tone layered by vocals that move from a bark / scream to a melodic sing, these guys do the live thing well, even if for this show they were added only days prior and had to open the long day.
On stage, the band pumped through a quick set, stopping only briefly between songs to speak a few words. Herbst, who was breathing quite heavily between each song, kept the set moving well enough, keeping the vibe moving.
This type of blended sound between different styles and feels makes for a good combination. Occasionally, Herbst picked up the drumsticks and added extra percussion to the overall drum led sound, creating an even heavier, punctuated style. Rezyn moves with plenty of speeds and rhythms, oftentimes breaking the sound down into a cleaner, very tripped out feel, accenting the overall ambience of the tune more than the apparent bruteness of the music. This a good band and worth another look down the road."...
