Artist History
Have you ever wondered what the fusion of Rock, Metal, Hip-Hop, & Funk would sound like? You’re not far off. D’z Nutz, hailing from the western Chicago Suburbs has done just that – a combination of styles and a fusion of sound.
The musical ensemble known as D’z Nutz was established in 1998. The group has an unbelievable background with an amazing feel for playing together. Each member adds his own personal style and influence to the music. The energy portrayed by the band both on record and live is captivating and mesmerizing.
Leading the groove, Ben Cihlar (Oak Park) lays down a wide array of emotion-felt bass lines backed by the solid funk-driven beats of Nik Wielgus (Berwyn). On guitars, Tim Kopala (Berwyn) and Josh Bus (Maywood) retaliate with relaxed, yet intricate guitar sounds. And on vocals, Jeff Slavinskas (Berwyn) verbally depicts the outlook of an average day and strong opinionated views.
They have graced the stage of such musically emporiums as: Hard Rock Café – Chicago, The Matrix, Subterranean, Riley’s Rock House, Afternight Sound Stage, The Buzz Café, Uncle Snorkey’s, and over 40 other private showcases. D’z Nutz was selected by Q101 and Hard Rock Café as one of the top 4 unsigned bands in the Chicagoland area. D’z Nutz has also been featured on Chris Payne’s Local Music Showcase on Q101.
The music and style that D’z Nutz brings to the stage has inspired a following of over 300 fans. This dedicated fan-base is sure to be at each and every show, for the love of the music and a love for the band. It can easily be seen that the reason D’z Nutz love to play is for the enjoyment of their fans.
