Artist History
The Cocktail Slippers from Oslo, Norway formed back in the beginning of 2001, and the four girls didn’t waste much time before they got their gear into the studio. Together with technician and co-producer Don Dons at Hangaround Sounds they recorded the fabulous debut album “Rock It!”. When released by MTG Records in May 2002 the album received lots of good reviews in Norway and the rest of Scandinavia.
During the spring of 2003 they also released an excellent video for the track “Oh Boy”. With this video the band enjoyed many weeks of heavy rotation on the Norwegian television channels NRK and ZTV.
Since the release of ”Rock It”, the Cocktail Slippers have spend their time playing live around Norway and they’ve also been writing truckloads of new killer material!
Five brilliant tracks are now recorded and ready to hit the streets!
This EP will knock you into next week and you’ll love it!!!
The music of The Cocktail Slippers is often described as a crossover between The Beach Boys and The Sex Pistols. This is a description that pretty much sums up what the Cocktail Slippers is all about. They deliver a tasteful intoxicating blend of pure rock & roll topped with catchy pop melodies and sing-a-long choruses. The Cocktail Slippers beams out good vibrations in every direction and with their happy-go-lucky attitude they leave a satisfied smile on every face in the crowd.
The Cocktail Slippers rocks like there’s no tomorrow and they always put their heart, soul and pride into every single live performance! It’s a soothing sight for sore eyes and pure sonic candy for the ear! The four beauties appear like revelations in their custom made costumes and so far the girls have been seen on stage dressed up as stewardesses, housewives (from hell), rednecks and tennis players! What comes next? … No one knows.
The musical backgrounds and sources of inspirations of The Cocktail Slippers can be tracked down to all kinds of stuff, but each member of the group has her own strong taste and opinion about this subject. Luckily the four of them can at least agree upon the fact that the love for bands like the Ramones, MC5, Blondie, B52’s and Foo Fighters is something they all have in common.
During the next months The Cocktail Slippers will release the already mentioned EP, do some massive touring and also start working on a brand new video!
