Artist History
This band was complete with all five members in early january 2000, before that, the four guys (all except Siggi) had been jamming for a couple of months and had written a few songs when Siggi joined. Back then, when the first songs were written, their main influences were metalcore bands such as zao, jane embodyment and that kind of stuff. But in this year that has passed, their influences have changed and with it the style of their music. The cd Anger is not enough shows the progress of the past year. With old songs like All Smiles, This am I, Blue ball turns black and Snafu, it reflects the beginning of the band and our first songs. Then it shows the songs that were written a bit later like Turn off your telivisions and Anger is not enough. But last but not least, it gives you a little taste of what their songs that they're writing nowadays sound like, (they're recorded live). Snafu has changed from a mettallic moshcore band to a more progressive, skippy, hardcore-metal band with influences from karate to bloodlet and from dillinger to nasum. Snafu's accomplishments over the year have been many, like coming second place in a local music contest and therefore getting recording time at studio Grjótnáman where they recorded their cd, Anger is not enough. Snafu has played at tons of shows with great Icelandic bands such as Mínus, Klink, Vígspá and more and also belgian metalcore masters Length of time, and have built a reputation for having wicked stage performance. Recently Snafu's cd, Anger is not enough has been said, by a columnist in the local newspaper, one of the 10 best records released in the year 2000. Pretty neat huh? |
