Buckle up and get ready for the ride of your life, as you are about to drive through the mind-blowing world of Mind Driver, the jewel of Orange County. Mind Driver is no stranger to crowds of screaming fans and fantastic fun as they have been performing in Southern California for the past few years. 2003 finds the band on the verge of a new adventure with songs that reflect real life and a sound that transcends that reality. The group hits the Music scene with a flare that sets them apart from any other group in the Orange County circuit due to their dedication and determination along with a talent to keep their music evolving and meeting the demands of fans. The fact that the band members have the looks to keep girls screaming and exude an energy that can cross any county line doesn’t hurt them either. Vocalist Heath Cofran, guitarist Jimmy Lloyd, guitarist Brett Klorer, bassist Carlos Ortega and drummer Max Cuzor make up this tight group of up and coming superstars. Mind Driver came to be who they are today through a series of challenges and trials. Unfortunately, two days after their first gig, original guitarist Tio Jauregui was killed. This tragedy only made Mind Driver more committed toward making itself a success in the spirit and legacy of their dear friend and band member Tio. Although the band has seen players come and go since their inception, the band now has a chemistry that is apparent on and off the stage. Mind Driver was originally the name of a song, however the band decided that it best reflects the message they were trying to portray to their audience and became the name of the band. Mind Driver, meaning whatever it is that drives your mind or otherwise motivates you in life to the fullest potential to get a positive outcome is what the band envisions. “The songs cater to real life situations and to the average Joe just trying to make it through another day in this crazy life.” States vocalist Heath Cofran. Songs that touch on subjects of love, loss, rejection and stereotypes are only a few of the many issues expressed through Mind Driver’s hard hitting melodies that makes the soul jump until the body follows. “Ten Percent of Nothing”, the first full length CD released in 2000 quickly caught the attention of veteran managers, Todd Singerman and Tom Maher of, Singerman Entertainment (Motorhead, Pure Rubbish, Zebra Head, Erase the Grey.) After signing an exclusive management deal with Singerman Entertainment, The band returned with another independent release in 2001 with “Satellite TV” which included a wide arrange of styles, that included Pop Punk (Stuck on Me, Lesbian) Modern Rock (Away, Forever, Atlanta) Reggae (Lights out) and Metal (Fallen). With a wide array of influences Mind Driver has always found it hard to stick to one type of music. In late 2002 Mind Driver had locked them selves away for a month and found a style they could call their own. With Mind Driver taking the best aspects of Punk, Metal, Rock and Pop and melting them into their own Hybrid of new rock, it is undeniable to have its remains ringing in the ears of listeners. 2002 into 2003 has seen Mind Driver continue their impact onto the music scene. • Played the South West leg of the Van’s Warped Tour 2002; • Played five sold out shows at the House of Blues Anaheim with Lit, Zebrahead (twice), Sugarcult and Finch; • Sold out three Headlining shows at the well known Chain Reaction in Anaheim. • Played to 1,000 people per night for 13 nights as their second year at the Queen Mary’s “Shipwreck” Halloween Production 3 years in a row. • Local finalist in the 2002 Ernie Ball Battle of the bands • Two songs featured on ESPN’s “Insane World” • Performed as the only unsigned band on the Kroq main stage at the 2003 Earth day Festival before 15,000 fans • Mentioned as “the band to look out for in 2003 by KROQ’s radio personality, Stryker • Lesbian the 15th Most Requested song for 2002 by Kool 94.3 FM, Orange County; • Voted the number One Unsigned Band in Orange County by Music Force.Net. • Recently featured with a song on a Quicksilver clothing ad. • Featured on 4 compilations “Punk vs. Ska Round 1”, “Punk vs. Ska Round 2”, both on scratch magazine Records; “Along the Way: Bad Religion Tribute” on Tru One Records; and Children Hospital of Orange County’s benefit CD on Knight Records. • In addition, the band had the opportunity to work with Music Video Director, Ilan Sherone, which resulted in the release of a $25,000 dollar Music Video, shot on 35mm film for the song Lesbian”, off of the Satellite TV EP. • Lesbian Video has been seen on MTV Canada and The Discovery Channel. “Music Industry watchers and local fans are increasingly lining up behind Mind Driver, predicting the band will soon be joining the ever growing list of Orange County success stories.” Orange County register .So stay tuned, and be ready to take Mind Driver with you in the front seat of your own crazy journey to any destination you desire.
