Artist description
Not many bands are capable of truly sounding scary, but when Providence's Holy Cow want to they can do just that. Holy Cow straddles and ultimately destroys the flimsy fence between goth and noise. Electric drones, glass crashing, pounding drums and the human groan of pain and agony often create the sonic landscape Holy Cow has been noted for since their inception in 1985. |

Artist History
In 1986 they released "Call It What You Will" followed by "Suggested Reading" in 1989. Both were released on the bands own Head Chunk Records label. They toured the U.S extensively taking time to record for numerous singles and compilations. It would be six more years before the release of "Soul Box" in 1995, a collection of well produced, varied re-mixes and b-sides that found the band new fans and brought back old ones. Since then, Holy Cow has continued to tour extensively in the U.S and parts of Europe.
Despite sabbaticals, relocations and personnel changes, Holy Cows' career in the industry over the years has proven their longevity. The release of their newest CD, "PURGE", maintains their sense of darkness while becoming heavier and tighter than ever before.

Press Reviews
New England’s Holy Cow are merchants of the macabre… The band take the best elements of the gothic and industrial-noise genre, yet belongs to neither. Frighteningly good songs…
Trouser Press
Holy Cow… play like a nightmare. The band… provide the thunder and lightning that every good horror story needs. They whip up gusts of feedback and sustained peals of broken and home-hewn chords that glide over pitch-black pools of troglodytic rhythm.
Ted Drozdowski, Boston Phoenix – Boston, MA
Once in a while a band comes down the pike that is so remarkable… that you want to scream and foam at the mouth on rooftops to howl their praises. Such is Holy Cow….
Greg Fasolino, Reflex Magazine.
