Artist description
The "band" is me. . .I play guitar and bass, and can pass at keyboards and piano.
My tunes are written by me and recorded by me and I play all the instruments except
drums, which are from a drum machine. In my day job, I am a family practice physician,
so I am certainly not currently a professional musician. I have many musical influences,
but when it comes to defining my style, I have a lot of trouble pigeon-holing that. I write
what I like, and that's it. |

Artist History
When in high school in central Illinois, I played lead guitar in a band called "Heater."
(This was 1974, folks.) Then I played bass in a much better band called "Bound In
Circles" for a couple of years. Then later in college I played acoustic guitar folk-music
and ballad sorts of things with a friend of mine. During medical school and residency,
I didn't do much of anything musically, except occasionally write a song on piano. Now in
the past few years I have started playing guitar again, and putting together songs, and
making digital recordings. I can't say I know where I am going with this, but it's fun |

Press Reviews
Good job on that "Heading Home" song! Dude I blasted that melodic tune while
I was folding clothes in my room and it sounded great! I think it'll be my folding clothes
theme song!
I like melodic stuff like that and I'll check out your other stuff later.
(Elmo45)
Melodic is definitely a great description. Who cares about quitting your day job, you have a better melodic sense than most
professional blues guitarists. Your lines are very in touch with the progression, and they
don't come off as aimless mess, but coherent melodic substance.
Good job! (BerkleeBound)
Hey Dan, very nice. I love that slow, calming soloing you do. I have tried to slow down
and try that style, but always end up doing the Yngwie shred-arpeggio thing. I guess it's
just in the blood. You have a good ear for melody. Had to listen to it again. Are you a Satriani fan? Parts of that song have a bit of a
Satriani feel to them...the cd "The Extremist" comes to mind. Just an observation. (Guitarforceone, Austin TX)
Dan-- very nice tune. I first listen to your stuff, because my guitar is going to sound
similar, and then I get hooked in by your good musicianship, and ability to compose a
song. I've listened to a few of your songs, and they are all rather good. I think you
underestimate yourself when you say, that you're keeping your day job. I think you would
definitely be a capable pro musician. If you want criticism, well I could supply that too.
You sometimes fall into small ruts in your improvisations, and then doing a series of pull
offs, and move on. Thats where I see your Satch influence, he has a similar style. Its not
really a bad thing, its just your style. When I comb through the songs that you have
listed, I could tell your playing on each one, its like a signature. Other than that, you
really got your stuff together
