Artist History This is Adam Ben's first solo release. Over the past few years, Ben has been busy producing, engineering, programming or performing for local Bay Area artists (Luce, Shook, TnT, Mojo Deluxe, Jellow Hat, Peter Barshay) and Major Label artists (Savage Garden, Lara Fabian, Marc Antony) and now it’s his turn to shine. The CD, titled “thank u”, contains nine radio-ready cuts (ALICE / KFOG), plus a hidden bonus track. His lyrics show a willingness to have some fun and forego the heavy brooding rock scene, while his production chops are ready for prime time. All tracks were written, produced, performed and mixed by Ben. Additional guitar work was performed by Matt Blackett (Guitar Player Magazine) and Hirshel Yadovitz (Chris Issac). Steve Bowman (drums, Counting Crows, August and Everything After) makes a guest appearance on Scream (#5), along with Nashville’s first call vocal diva, Lisa Cochran, handling backing vocals. “Half the songs on the CD were conceived in my truck,” says Ben, while the en tire CD was made in Ben’s Palo Alto studio, ARA, between the summer of 2000 and June of this year. Contributing to his live lineup are Charlie Stockley, drums; Shelby Gaines, sampler, keyboards; Paul Everett, bass; Hillary Hightower, vocals; and Matt Blackett on guitar.l
