Artist History Xanther is an Industrial/Darkwave Metal group currently based in Seattle. Lead by Joshy's (formerly of Abney Park) daunting guitar work and wide vocal palate, the music falls somewhere between New Wave and Black Metal...with a hint of just about everything in between. Formed in 2001 by an 18 year old Joshy, Xanther started off as an almost Black Metal project with hints of Industrial and Progressive Metal. Since then, Xanther has taken more of a Darkwave turn, which can especially be heard in the newer material. Xanther finished up their first album "Without, Within" in 2002 and will be following it with "The Charm of Contradiction" later in 2003/early 2004. The new album boasts the same power and technical brilliance of "Without, Within" as well as adding a more melodic slant and exceptionally poignant lyrics.
