    Artist description
The Cobbwebs are an electrifying band from Columbia, South Carolina who have taken the great rock songwriting and musical styles of the sixties into the new millennium. Their sparkling 6 and 12 string guitars backed by melodious bass lines and driving drums will have you tapping your feet and humming along with their memorable melodies. The Cobbwebs have taken a little bit of the Byrds and Turtles twangy folk-rock guitar sounds, backed by a touch of R&B from the Rolling Stones and Hollies, mixed in with the classic Farfisa organ sounds as used by the Monkees and Paul Revere & the Raiders, and topped off with their amazing multiple harmonies reminiscent of the Beatles and Beach Boys! Their music is for those who want to remember that first date or just growing up - it's just good-feeling rock and roll!

    Artist History
Del Bazemore and Chris Sanders for years had been playing their guitars and singing along with their favorite band's records - the Beatles, Monkees, Byrds, Beach Boys, and so many more they can't even remember. They had been in various bands both separate and together - some of which never even had a hit record! The Cobbwebs formed in 1990 when Del Bazemore introduced Chris Sanders to Walter Durst. Walter then proceeded to introduce Chris to Del, and Chris introduced himself to both of them accidentally. They all shared one thing in common - an obsession for collecting Beatles records and memorabilia.  The three traveled to Memphis to record "She Said Yes", a song in which Chris wrote music to Walter's lyrics. The song's chorus, "Yeah yeah she said yes", profoundly inspired a generation of fans, to do what - no one knows. It was recorded across 24 tracks and when the song was finished, they knew they had created something special, if not horrendous. They decided to mix the song anyway, but soon realized that in order to create a single, they must have another song. Thus, "She Said No" was born. By this time the three realized it was much more fun to create original songs, than to record themselves playing along with other bands and to claim it was all them. They soon purchased their own multitrack recorder and mastered the art of layering guitars on top of drums and bass, vocals on top of vocals, and tambourines on top of oranges. Chris and Del eventually decided to move to Nashville, not to pursue a record deal, but to find their country music roots - they never found any, so they settled for bug music. It was in Nashville, however, that they polished their sound and began working on their first album, all in the comfort of their own homes! Walter continued supplying song ideas and lyrics, and once was quoted as saying "the Cobbwebs are bigger than Barney". The ensuing controversy that resulted in a major lawsuit by the purple dinosaur turned out to be a huge misunderstanding - he was referring to Barney Rubble of Flintstones fame who luckily was a huge fan of "rock" music. In all seriousness though, take time to listen to the music. It has always been great fun for Chris, Del, and Walter to sing and record their own songs. They play all the instruments themselves, write all the lyrics, and sing and arrange all the vocals. Their sound may remind you of a style popular 4 decades ago, but with a uniqueness that catches your attention and makes you want to hear more. Their second album is already in the makes and Walter, Del, and Chris can't wait to bring it to you!
