Artist History
TEKT8R was "Invented" in the Summer of 2001, soon the first CD was out and selling on mp3.com.
The name TEKT8R doesn't really mean anything, just putting something unusual together that had the sound of Tech in it. TEKT8R is pronounced tech-tater.
TEKT8R was started as an experiment with techno music and with mp3.com.
Using TEKT8R music to learn how mp3.com works and how best to promote a new artist before introducing
the artist that we were most interested in setting up correctly. That artist has yet to finish the tracks to be added and TEKT8R
took on a life of it's own, becoming the main project and not just the learning experiment.
Thanks to the help from friends like Alaine Weber, Jen Thomas, Timm Muth, Michele Nicastro, and many more TEKT8R has had some mild success on mp3.com.
It was all fun up to the infamous 9-11 that changed it all. TEKT8R donated all the money made from the then generous mp3.com pay for play program
and all the CD sales cash to the Red Cross.
TEKT8R keeps putting out new experimental music, hoping one day to score a car commercial, or beer ad. |
