Living Sacrifice, Hospital, Anthem Boy, Hiding Remington Jan. 20, 2001 Muncie, IN @ Fractions By Jeremy Williams The show started off in a small venue in downtown Muncie. Hiding Remington was up first. They were a VERY good band from the Chicago area. a friend that i was with used to go to their church before he came to school. They had a ton of energy and their sound reminded me of .hopesfall. and laurelei. i just can't get enough of the melodic stuff, with the clean guitars and singing along with distortion and screaming...one interesting thing is that their drummer sang the majority of the songs. (www.hidingremington.cjb.net) Next up was Anthem Boy...they played militant vegan straightedge hardcore. i saw them the week before with Martyr AD and Poison the Well, and i liked what i heard there, so i was expecting the same, but i was sadly disappointed. i don't know why, but i wasn't nearly as impressed by them at this show as i was at the last show. they played a few songs then got up and talked about the reason that they play, the causes they fight for and the things the believe in and stuff, then they played a few more songs and left. (www.anthemboy.net) then came Hospital. i think they were a local band, probably from Ball State, and they were so good! They definitely had metal influence to them, and they totally got the crowd into it. the crowd was going nuts. and the last song was the best part, the drummer lit his cymbals on fire and played the song. the came the best part of the show...Living Sacrifice...they set up both drummers and the rest of the band on the foot-high stage that couldn't have been bigger than 12X15 or so. they started off playing stuff from their new album like Not My Own, Altered Life, Conditional and when they played Reject, the crowd went crazy, i think everyone in the place was singing along. they played a few more songs, some from Reborn and some from The Hammering Process, and then the lead singer from Anthem Boy started a fight so the owner of the venue stopped the show. that really sucked, but Bruce said that they only had a couple more songs left anyways. even though the show was stopped, it was one of the best shows i've been to...if you EVER get a chance to see Living Sacrifice, do it!
