Artist History
Drawing influences from Nine Inch Nails, Faith No More, Depeche Mode, Pearl Jam etc, Sepia started around 1998, but never actually materialised until 2000. The brains behind Sepia is Neil Carden, a 22 year old student from Worksop, Notts., currently studying a BSc in Music Technology in Leeds.
After being in rock bands before his departure to Leeds, he has kept that vein, but also introduced other aspects. His influences include Nine Inch Nails, Kerbdog, Depeche Mode, Korn, Fiona Apple, A Perfect Circle, Ben Folds Five, Faith No More, Deftones….. the list goes on. Sepia’s sound is also in more than one genre with rock, pop, alternative, and dance feels on Sepia’s first CD.
Neil uses a small PC based set-up to write, record, and master Sepia tracks at ‘Sepial’ studios. There are more and more songs coming out all the time, some written over time, some in a day, but all are in outstanding quality.
Sepia are currently thinking about forming a live part to their act, and may one day be playing gigs near you.
Sepia won’t be music to everybody’s ear, but will be to most.
