Artist History
In 1996, Da Brown Pound released his self-titled debut album and firmly established himself as a visionary and force to be reckoned with in the music industry. A lightening rod for controversy, the former actor-turned rap supastar was accustomed to the trappings of fame, and was determined to be more than a one-hit wonder. After a massive world tour to promote the album, he devoted himself to further cultivating his artistic vision. BP has described the past three years of his career as a "self-imposed exile" during which he flirted with the fringes of the underground music scene, releasing music under assumed names and guest DJ-ing at some of West Hollywood's trendiest clubs. All the while he was recording new material at breakneck speed, most notoriously his "Lost Weekend" in Hawaii with Dre, where he recorded 29 albums worth of material. Now, working in collaboration with producer MCWyatt, BP has delivered his most personal vision, a searing portrait of America as a Culture and a System. Make no mistake: Da Brown Pound is BACK |
