Artist description “The Finish Line” is a new acoustic rock quartet from Orange County, California. In a time where so many bands follow in the footsteps of others, creating the same music over and over again, “The Finish Line” is a breath of fresh air in this stagnant pool of music. This new sound is created through intense rhythmic guitar patterns, intricate, funky slap bass, and powerful drums. The music is heavily influenced by John Mayer, the Dave Matthews Band, Ani Difranco, Ben Harper, and Tool.

Artist History “The Finish Line” is made up of singer/songwriter John Mapes (guitar), Adam Shah (bass), Mike Baas (Piano), and Dan Bailey (drums). The first three members all grew up in the city of Tustin, Ca, and they all attended Foothill High School. They never played together until after graduating. Dan Bailey is an accomplished drummer. He has played in numerous bands and has tremendous talent. We love Dan. The age range in the band is 20-24. “The Finish Line” has been playing together since December 2001, and has been going strong ever since. Since this is a brand new project our playing experience is limited (as “The Finish Line”), but all three members have been in many local bands. Some of these bands are: Peanut n’ Me, Czar 51, Kinda Nice, and The Purple Foot Clan. We have separately played countless venues such as: The Whisky, the Roxy, Coconut Teaszer, The Galaxy, The Coach House, Chain Reaction, and the Long Beach Convention Center.
