    Artist History
1986 – Bill Jackson and Dan Kalbfus start playing music together in Furnas Woods, NY. The duo play mostly Genesis tunes with little original music writing. 1987 – Bill Jackson moves to Daytona Beach, Florida. The End of the beginning to what would become a music friendship that would span 10 plus years. 1989 – Dan Kalbfus enrolls in Potsdam University in New York to study music. 1990 – Bill Jackson returns to New York on a visit. So afterwards Bill and Dan start fiddling around and the first original Anachronism tune was born called “The Song”. Brian Kalbfus was incorporated on the drums. 1991 – Bill moves to Delaware and makes a fleeting attempt at higher education at the University of Delaware. During vacation breaks the trio would get together a record songs that were written while each was on their own. Notable tunes from this period are: “Reminiscence, All I Want to Do, Don’t Throw Stones, & Nothing Can Take Me Away From This.” 1992 – More songs were written and recorded: “Past the Butter, Endless Search, Within the Hours of the Storm, Far Away, & Color of Clear.” In late January Bill had to move back to Florida for personal and financial reasons. July 1992, Dan stayed with Bill and girlfriend Michelle in Florida to try and elevate the band into a live performance level. This was harder than expected and little was done during these two months. Bill became ill and money became very tight. “Valley of the Sun, Dan’s Love Song, and Through These Eyes” were recorded. Dan went back to school. 1993 – While in Florida Bill kept recording and did some light performing under the name Anachronism. At that time David-Paul Niner joined “Anachronism-South” as a lyricist and bassist. This was the most prolific time in the existence of the band. At one point a record exec from MCA California had interest in the band. Especially the goof country song “Since She Died”. Things fell through. Later that year Bill, Dan, Brian and Dave got together and made a live video of songs placed on the bands demo “Goodaftermorning”. The band had a nibble from Genesis Entertainment but things as normal fell through. The bands music was out of place in the grunge nineties, living up to their name Anachronism. 1994 – David-Paul left the group never to be heard from again. At this time Bill started playing with Phnom guitarist David Giddings. The two went on to record a demo intitled “Without Warning”. The music was very electric in orientation and Bill did not carry on with the Anachronism banner. Bill renamed the band “Thyme”. Again interest was sought by way of the recording industry only to be doused do to the lack of commercial material. Studio time was even booked and the band was a pen stroke of becoming signed. Damn 1990’s. Original music was dead to the recording industry. David Giddings quit the band. 1995 – Clay Jackson was introduced to the group as the new drummer. Dan and Brian were once again called upon to lend their hand in writing and recording. The name of “Thyme” was kept during this time period. Notable songs during this period, “Asylum (it is now in 2001 nominated by the Singer Songwriter Association of Central Florida for best original song via Clay’s solo performances of the song) and Cast Adrift. 1996 to 1997 – Bill and Clay kept on writing and recording under the name “Thyme”. An attempt to record a label produced “demo” (CBS) with David Giddings was scheduled but blown out of the water when David disappeared without a trace. What’s up with the name “Dave”? 1998 – Clay, Bill, and Dan reunited once again to record. This was a very tense atmosphere within the band and “Thyme” was dissolved. Notable recording, “Hung out to Dry”. 2000 – The name Anachronism was pulled off the shelf and used on the next demo recording “Short Stories”. The demo was done in video format instead of Tape or CD. Thomas Murphy was added to the lineup as “Drummer” while Clay moved to Bass/Vocals/Piano/Guitar. Brian was also utilized in this recording as keyboard bass and flute player. 2001 – “Opposing Viewpoints” is due out in April on independent release via the Internet.
