    Artist description
Fed up with your cubicle and your coworkers? Got the "Inner City Office Blues"? If so, Theron Day of Washington D.C. has the cure for what ails you. His new solo album, titled Cubicle Junkies, addresses some of the many issues involved with working in the inner city, and dealing with a typical day in the cubicle. Drawing inspiration from Mike Judge's film, Office Space, and his own experiences, Theron Day offers this album to anyone familiar with the trials & tribulations of the office. The all-original tunes range in style from alternative rock to folk and country, with a little punk rock thrown into the mix. Songs like "It's Thumbs," "This City's A Sickness," and "Inner City Office Blues" directly reflect the white-collar world, while "Stripers Abound" and "Drive to Oregon" represent one's daydreams whilst in the doldrums of the office, and "Harford County" and "Appalachia Radio" allow Theron to remember the simpler days of his rural upbringing. Hailing from Harford County, Maryland, Theron Day has been playing music since his teenage years, starting out as a bass player, and then moving to guitar, before graduating to a versatile singer/songwriter. He has been involved with several bands over the years, mainly punk, alternative, and cover groups-most notably, the DC rock outfit, Illuminati, which Theron co-founded. Illuminati released an EP (Buddy) in 1999, and followed with a full-length (Bastards and Charlatans) effort in 2000, both consisting of songs written and sung by Theron. Bastards & Charlatans was nominated for two Wammies (Washington Area Music Association) for "Best Underground/Punk Album" and "Best Underground/Punk Vocalist" in 2000. Illuminati played the DC/Baltimore scene regularly for almost 2 years and played many times in NYC, including 3 appearances at CBGB's and several at The Elbow Room, before setting out on a US tour with fellow DC rockers Liquid Solid. The highlight of their tour was a show at the famous Whiskey-a-Go-Go in Los Angeles. Theron left Illuminati after his final show with the band on April 7, 2001 at Arlene's Grocery in NYC in order to pursue his solo career. What followed was the creation of his latest studio effort, Cubicle Junkies, which received a Silver Award for best "Modern Rock/Alt" song at the 18th Annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. The album is in rotation on Falls Church TV and on has been getting airplay on XM (Unsigned) Radio. Theron is currently writing a new album, a harder edged project, tentively titled "The Moon & the Taurus".

    Press Reviews
"This album(Cubicle Junkies) is in my regular rotation of CD's... Harford County and Stripers Abound are my favorites at the moment.. some of the songs have a Primus/Nirvana/Midnight Oil feel to them. The album is a gem. Keep on pumping them out" S Druelinger. "I love the diversity of these tunes but expected this from such a talented artist." Salome Silver of Silver to Platinum Management. Images that come to mind while listening to Cubicle Junkes :"Tom Waits with a straw hat and a septum ring. Les Claypool with a fishing pole in one hand and a flying-V in the other, Tom Yorke with a palm pilot in one hand and a banjo in the other, and Mike Patton reading the wall street journal with his feet on the desk, donning a 2-piece italian-cut wool suit, smoking a short dominican cigar and ignoring the annoying buzz of his phone"...Timothy Haycob..Alexandria, VA folk h
