Sobre Nocturne
Sobre Nocturne started back -96 as an idea. And the concept was to make music that dealt with everything in between classical music and brutal Death-Metal. Because, while composing material, one sometimes can feel quite tighten up if you are stuck in one genre. So everything Dealt with Sobre Nocturne is, has been, and will always be a new direction.
The first recording ("Mare Cocurbit" spring -97) was actually a school project because the fact that it allowed me to work on schooltime with it. The demo was after a lot of work done with five tracks, four of them vere regular songs and one served as a kind of introduction. My meaning about the recording is that I succeded with my intention of making my own music, never made before. Wether it is a genial recording or not I leave unsaid. Just sure that I could do it better today!
The second recording ("Un-named" november -97) was including one of the older songs and two new, that was following the pattern of nothing. One of the songs was almost like a speed metal song. So I had included a new style in the music. That was ´til that moment almost unexplored besides listening to it sometimes, so I was quite satisfied with those composings!
The third recording ("Chapter 3/Rejection" April -98) was a demo tape including only two songs, and again it followed the pattern of no-style. The first time I put real choirs in use instead of using only synth-choirs, and I really liked the vibe of real organic voices instead of the digital sound. In that point I decided to use as many "real" instruments as possible where. And decided to look for som kind of a record deal to finance the recordings! I did send the tape to a few various labels, and got some really good responce. Among those who answered was the new label Loud N´Proud Records and they handed over a fair record contract so I signed with them in the beginning of July -98
The recordings of the first album, ("Serpentine Dreamweaver") went as excpected. I find myself a level higher as composer, musician etc. I had the opportunity to work with effective people. Yet I haven´t that distance to the music I need to make an objective comment, but Sobre Nocturne is not just a temporary stage. It will continue! Check the record out, and see for yourselves!
I´m torn between old death/doom, and classical music, and also influensed by some more rare rythms, and strange harmonies.
The first compositions was a try to make string-quartets and arrangements on
guitar + vocal songs I had made etc. And after a while I saw that this could be my
little hobby project aside Necromicon.
This two year project have become bigger, meaning, it is taking more and more of my composing time, but yet I can´t say it is a "group", but I would like to have it. but I would have need to many people involved to make it a group capable to do live conserts
Some of the influenses are:
Morbid Angel: Because of the furious feeling they combine with those genius harmonies.
Arvo Pärt: A modern composer from Estinonia that writes mainly Choral music, but with the most excellent harmonies and emotions, a very heavy feeling lies upon the arrangements!
Samael: Just for their innovation and lovely pompeus riffs, shared with their
feeling for beauty.
Many could be mentioned, but it feels un-necessary.
