Artist History
The Transgressors(name was taken from the title of a Jim Thompson book...Thompson was a brilliant crime-noir writer in the 40's, 50's, 60's & 70's) formed in March of 2001 and is comprised of guitaist/songwriter Dylan Kight(the Atlantis, Exile Circus) & poet/vocalist Johnny Roulette(Family Smack Off, Heldorado, Johnny Roulette & The Bad Ideas, Thompson Roulette). Kight and Roulette formed the Transgressors as an outlet for Roulette's ridiculously large number of songs that were lacking music and to ease the frustration of having to have song ideas and lyrics please everyone in Thompson Roulette. What started as a favor by Dylan has turned into a legitimate collaboration. Roulette saw the freedom and lack of strict adherence to traditional unspoken rules when it came to song structure in The Atlantis(where Kight was the sole singer, guitarist & lyricist) and in the touching solo efforts. The songs will continue to trickle out of Aztec Ballroom and New Revenge Studios...except when flow in torrents like blood from the neck of a decapitated man. |
