Music Style Kick-Ass Instrumental Surf

Artist History Surf Report was formed in 1993 by two High-School friends, Rick Wilkinson and Ruhar, in the garage of a Clairemont home. Inspired by influences ranging from The Ventures to Ozzy Osbourne, they came up with a unique style of up-tempo instrumental surf music. Surf Report played their first show on a rooftop in Mission Beach, CA for nearly 100 people on the streets below. The response was so overwhelming that they decided to record an album of their original modern surf music. In 1994, The Bikini Island Experiment became an international success, and paved the way for a new breed of Instrumental Surf Rock. 1996's Inferno picked up where Bikini Island Experiment left off, grabbing rave reviews in national and international magazines. Inferno was included in England's Pipeline magazine list of the 10 best releases of 1996. In 1999, Surf Report released their multimedia CD Lavarockreverb, which features 11 new songs, plus over 100 images, video, and 2 hours of live Surf Report performances accessible with a computer. In 2000, Surf Report's dedication to its fans earned them the honor of "Best Rock Band in San Diego" in a countywide reader's poll taken by San Diego's Music and Arts weekly newspaper, The San Diego Reader. Playing all over Southern California, from hometown bars & summer street fairs, to classic automobile shows, and giant corporate events, Surf Report gives live performances nothing short of spectacular.
