Artist description
Colorado is known for cowboys, white trash, and mid-west livin', but for five entities from different parts of the world it's the birth place of Sickbox. Steve (vocals), Yuli (drums), Dan (guitars), Mat (bass), and Ikaika (guitars) have founded a distinctive sound setting them apart from the Denver music scene.
The core of Sickbox began in '96 with Steve and some friends jammin' out some covers and original songs.
3 years and different line-ups passed with no real progress until the introduction of Mat and Dan in '99. The infamous man named Yuli was found in early '00 through divine intervention. Ikaika joined shortly after completing the current Sickbox line-up.
An ever-evolving unit, Sickbox violently attacks the senses with a concoction of down-tuned neo-death metal guitars and bass, precision hard-driven drumming, and powerful commanding vocals. From the frenzied intro of "Pumpkin" and the pummeling "Everything" to the sublime turn violent "Not Feel" and schizophrenic
"No Time", Sickbox has created a sound of their own covering the vast spectrum of their influences.
Sickbox broke the floodgates open in October '00 with the first of many over the top live performances. Capturing shocked audiences with an energetic stage show coupled with an equally twisted soundtrack, the live Sickbox experience is something that must be witnessed to understand. Sickbox proves that they can deliver the goods with an ever-growing fan base hungry for their next fix... |
