Artist History
premature burial originally evolved from Joshua Heinrich's on-again-off-again album of experimental electronic music, originally to be released as a solo album under his own name. The idea emerged from the track "exctinction", an experimental dark soundscape composed and recorded in 1999 for an experimental live group performance piece. The album was originally meant to contain primarily electronic material from Josh's college days, but that idea was subsequently scrapped after Josh decided that a lot of that material was too sterile and mechanical. Then, Josh toyed around with the idea of releasing the existing material under his main project, fornever. This idea, too, was discarded and it was decided that new material would be recorded to accompany "exctinction", and the resulting album would be released as a new entity. Hence, premature burial was born. Part dark experimentation. Part industrial. Part goth. While compiling old material and working on new tracks for the debut flowers for the dead release, Josh began work on a second release, ritual, a dark instrumental concept album rooted in the occult and religion that took premature burial in a more serious direction. |
