Artist description
Electric Happy Hour is a funky, jazzy, groove-based, improvisational, and upbeat amalgamation of sound. The music is dynamic in the sense that the band experiments with different volumes, sounds, effects, distortion, and textures throughout. A POWER TRIO! Electric Happy Hour creates a bridge between jazz and groove that is original and upbeat. When the band plays a live show, the set lists will include originals as well as covers by artists such as Medeski, Martin, and Wood; Miles Davis, John Scofield, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Billy Cobham, and others. Like the artists they enjoy covering, Electric Happy Hour aims to fuse the spontaneity of jazz, the power of rock, and the edge of funk into surprising new sounds. |

Artist History
In the spring of 2000, Electric Happy Hour was formed in Madison, WI by three former members of the fusion group Gargamel. These individuals were interested in creating more new music, as well as furthering their development as musicians through the challenge of being a group with only three members. Despite being from disparate areas (Boston, New York, and Milwaukee), the members of this band met as undergraduates at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Electric Happy Hour is currently playing in a wide range of venues in Madison, as well as some regional shows. |
