Artist description
This virtual band, born over the net waves from a love of Maton guitars and
A minor chords, just reeks of ambiguity. Do they fancy themselves as
popstars, do they think they're musicians, do they think they're cute, do
they think they're funny? wh?tever..... |

Artist History
Groubie and Meeks met in May 98 at a Deborah Conway concert at the Dan
after meeting on the "Bitch List" (dc egroup) many months before. With
Groubie based in Sydney (formerly of Canberra) and Meeks from Melbourne,
they have only jammed together with various other bods on a few interesting occasions, including this year's National Folk Festival when they
combined with Rach to form The Egroup. Playing a string of covers by The
Waifs, Velvet Janes, Deborah Conway and the Indigo Girls, as well as some
originals earnt them a spot at the main Cafe where they drew a small but
intrigued audience.
That positive reaction to their original songs has inspired them to put pen
to paper at any given moment and these songs have evolved in their
respective cities.
It took one dreary morning in Melbourne, sandwiched in between celebrating
at two brilliant Bluehouse concerts in May 99, to put a few tunes onto
tape. Maybe next time they will work out how to use the four-track and get
some quality about them, maybe one day they will live in the same city,
maybe one day these groupies will have groupies ............ wh?tever.....
