Press Reviews UJU is a musical UFO dropping audio bombs on the unsuspecting masses. Incorporating members Wani (the beauteous vocals), Dana B, PJ, MelloMan, and Lico... these alien entities have set up shop in Minneapolis, MN. Right off, it is obvious UJU is Bjork influenced. This is no cheap knock off though. The vocal work by Wani is gorgeous and takes on a life of its own (is it possible to be more exotic than Bjork?). The song structures are amazingly complex and fresh. Environmental and abstract sounds are seamlessly mixed with melodic elements and pop melodies creating a paradox of simplicity and intellectualism. The sound design is a complete compliment to Wani's voice. Very bizarre. UJU seems to draw influences from eastern music and jazz as well as electronica. They deserve your attention just for originality and very listenable vocals not to mention the great mixing and sound design.
