Artist History
Originally started in Kansas City in 1995 as a side project, Sinforosa developed from an acoustic duo into a full band. Wanting to create music of depth and mystery that had a definate pop sensibility, the members of Sinforosa have been been bringing their own brand of mischievous acoustic pop songs to Seattle area clubs and coffeehouses alike as a full band since 1998. Now with their second release, Cellar Door Serenades, Sinforosa continues to grow as a textural pop gem in the Northwest Music Scene. |

Press Reviews
"Sinforosa is built around Traci Nemeth's voice. Their Instrumentation is sparse and elegant; these are pop songs from the deep woods, to be sure, but the music is often pleasant, belying the dark intentions found in the lyrics...Nemeth is extremely versatile; she sounds different on every track...On "Jacaranda" (from the album Deadly Faerie Tales), she uses the spooky little girl voice of Cranes' Alison Shaw; on "St. Joe" (from the same album), her breathy vocals are reminiscent of a lower case Kate Bush, which is about the highest comparison I can make to a singer." - Robert Allen, The Iconoclast, Seattle"Sinforosa shows that it can offer melodies that are gentle and hypnotic, and then turn around and give you a more punching and energetic piece. Sinforosa is odd enough not to be appreciated by everybody, but impressive enough to be well respected by all lovers of music." - The Note, Kansas City, Missouri"Sinforosa are a jangly pop deal with occasional (and largely inoffensive) new age leanings. Traci has a swell voice..." - The Rocket, Seattle, Washington"Sinforosa took the lounge stage armed with shakers, brushes, and a tambourine...and the cha-chas resound at the forefront of Sinforosa's vocalist and cicada-like drum mimicry." - The Stranger, Seattle, Washington ""Sinforosa boldly charged through a set of melodic originals...with lots of open acoustic guitar strumming...elaborate percussion work...(and)hooky vocals with a strong, clear voice." - Bang Bang, Seattle, Washington |
