Artist description
In a world where snot nosed kids, still wet behind the ears, sing songs about their incapacity to deal with a wrong number, Michaels'songs reveal a soul raised on corn flakes and whiskey, with cigarettes for desert - served off the back of a red cross ambulance in a hurricane. -Don David |

Artist History
Michael O'Meara came from the wilds of Brooklyn, the ghostly land of Pennsylvania farmlands, Long Island foster homes, Lower East Side Ukraine restaurants, Colorado high desert , San Francisco mind sets and Bisbee survival school to land safely and worn to a shine in Gainesville Fl. Music. Music with words or without. Sad, happy, working, loafing, crying, dreaming. Anything that happens to strike a chord at some very private moment is worth singing about. You could be doing the wash and think of an old love who just wouldn't leave that damned seat down. Of that certain goofy dog you had as a kid... All the songs yet to be put down. That's the tune scribbler's mind. Music was Michael's companion on these and other travels, It (Music) is better than a fight in a biker bar, it beats English in the Mexican bars. The songs just bounced into him. A gift from all the people he had met and some that he even fought with. Songs were his diary as he went from job to job. Ironworker on the Brooklyn Bridge, Headline novelty printer in Times Square, Furniture mover in various states, bartender in the Irish Bronx, Hauling down patio rock from the Rockies. It all added up. It all goes into the mix.
Opened for Dave Van Ronk, Keb Mo, and Gillian Welch.
