Artist History
It's a music industry fairy-tale. Four seasoned young Canadian musicians get together to indulge their collective love of Miles Davis' early electric music, record a CD (Metalwood) after one day's rehearsal, release it independently and win a coveted national music award, the 1998 Juno for Best Contemporary Jazz Recording. Their new CD, Metalwood II (Maximum Jazz) just walked away with the 1999 Juno! Funky, high-energy grooves and world class improvisation. With Mike Murley saxophones, Brad Turner keyboards/trumpet, Chris Tarry bass and Ian Froman drums. |
