Artist History
Lowell James was never a member of any influential underground
bands. He did, however, play in The FlowerBox Army and The Calhouns.
The early recordings from those bands generally aren't available
anywhere outside a small circle of faithful fans...but if one does find
a rare copy of the albums "Songs from Fall" or "August Hours" or the
singles "Failure", "Charlie Pride" or "Bury Me"...rest assured that
you've got your hands on some material that isn't considered to be at
all collectible.

The Rocket, a bimonthly music magazine in the northwest,
said of The FlowerBox Army's debut album ("Songs from
Fall") - "A gust of unpolluted wind. Psychedelic tinged
folk pop with warm, hooked filled melodies." |
