Artist description Evil Adam is a high energy "Scrap Metal" band from Jersey City, NJ that blends all the best sounds of their influences, infuses them with melody, and makes a complete sound of their own. Evil Adam live is an entertaining and insanly tight spectacle to behold. Evil Adam was started by Rene Rosa as he recorded and wrote all the music by himself. The band expanded to play live and now has the following Lineup. Rene Rosa on vocals, Izzie Machado on guitar, Rob Beltran on guitar, Yarely on bass, Jay Curcio on drums. They are all avid music fans and love watching horror films and other types of escapist entertainment.

Artist History For the longest time Rene Rosa needed an outlet for his frustrations, consistent bad luck, and everyday problems. In 1997 he lost his job, dropped out of college since he couldn't afford it, and then hit rock bottom in a relationship. After all this happening at the same time, he locked himself in his bedroom with his guitar, bass, drums and computer and began recording songs that he had been writing since 1993. He had no band, nor did he really plan on starting one at the time. He was happy with the way the songs were coming out, but they needed vocals. Not really confident in his singing, he wanted someone else to do the vocals but came up empty. Reluctantly he recorded the vocals himself, along with every other instrument on the songs. Out of the twenty somewhat songs he had, he uploaded a bunch of them to mp3.com and started to get many downloads, especially with the song "Godless". While shooting up in the charts in the metal section of mp3.com, "Godless" became number 1 in its genre for 3 months and got the attention of Guy Tetro, the Chief Editor of Hipnosis.com, a New Jersey Arts and Entertainment web-site and magazine. Hipnosis invited "Evil Adam" to play the first annual Hipnosis Halloween show, and Rene couldn't possibly say no even though he didn't really have a band. Rene Rosa had a dilemma on his hands, but knew exactly where to go to solve it. His cousin, Izzie Machado, was already playing bass in another band, along with his friend Rob Beltran, who was doing vocals. He asked them if they would like to play with him at the Halloween gig, and as they were already familiar with the material they said yes. Yarely Rivera, Rene's longtime friend was playing guitar at the time and joined up to be in the band as well. Yarely and Izzie decided they wanted to switch instruments, and thus the first version of the band was complete. Since there wasn't a whole lot of time to prepare for the show, and it was impossible for them to find a drummer, Rene recorded all the drum tracks to a mini-disk player and solved the issue temporarily. With Rene on vocals, Izzie and Rob on guitar, and Yarely on bass, "Evil Adam" played its first official gig on Halloween of 1999 and was an instant hit with the crowd. Since they had so much success with the audience in that show they then decided they wanted to continue playing together as a band and began booking shows all around New York and New Jersey. After a while the band realized they needed to finish the lineup with a real drummer and began the search for the final member to truly complete the band. Two temporary drummers and 4 try outs later, Jay Curcio, a long time friend of Rene and also a fan of the band offered to try out for the position. After blasting his way through an entire set of material in the first try out, it was clear that "Evil Adam" had found its new permanent drummer, and was now complete. The music of "Evil Adam" manages to be heavy, pumping, and hard hitting while still maintaining catchy melodies. The band has called this combination of different styles "Scrap Metal", as it combines the elements of their favorite music with their own original sound and approach. With an amazingly energetic live show, flawless performances, and catchy songs, "Evil Adam" promises to breathe new life into the world of metal and take the music world by storm.
