Artist History
Born Eddie Nathaniel James, Jr. on July 12, 1973,
Eshay, is a true testament to the new re-birth of
R&B/Soul. Growing up in the seventies, eighties
and now well into the nineties, Eshay, is a
product of his era. Borrowing from various
musical influences from each decade, Eshay,
pronounced (ee-shay), is a singer, writer,
composer and producer with a rare talent for
capturing the true essence of human being,
in his mostly heartfelt songs. Eshay, first
started singing in a little church just on the
outskirts of Gainesville, Florida. In 1993, he was
discovered in a mall singing in the food court
with three other young men, all who would later
form a group called the Tru-G'z, by an off duty
police officer who was shopping with his family.
This alliance took Eshay, out of the country to
Toronto, Canada where the Tru-G'z recorded their
first cd, titled From the Heart. From there it
was onto the national Canadian Record Charts,
where they spent over 32 weeks, with the likes of
Janet Jackson, Spice Girls, R. Kelly, Puff Daddy,
BoyzIIMen, Backstreet and many of today's
contemporary chart-topping acts. From the
Governors mansion and state capitol of Florida
were they performed at the request of the
Governor several times, to the clubs of Vancouver
and Montreal, Canada, to the many stops in between
Miami and Toronto, Eshay has had ample opportunity
to perfect his skills. Eshay has opened up for
Johua Kadison, A Few Good Men, Subway, Glen Jones,
For Real, Tony Terri, Method Man, Shaggy, SWV, 98°,
and many, many others, including headlining shows
at the Canadian National Expo and other various
venues. In 1995, Eshay, along with the members of
the Tru-G'z made University of Florida history by
becoming the first R&B group to perform at Gator
Growl, an annual event that has a yearly
attendance of about 70,000.
Eshay, has many favorite artist, but Babyface,
Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield,
Marvin Gaye and BoyzIIMen are tops on his list.
Eshay eats, sleeps, breathes and drinks music and
everything about music. This is evident in his
favorite pastime, which is writing music. Not
only does he see this as the career that he was
put here on earth to do, but this is what he is,
music. Eshay believes the best advice that he
ever received was simply, to stay focus, and if
he is able to do that then his goal of one day
writing and producing hit after hit like Babyface
will be possible. As a matter of fact, throw in a
little Sammy Davis Jr. along with a little LL
Cool J and mix them with Babyface and you will
have that person that Eshay feels best describes
him.

Press Reviews
An exceptional cd by anyones standards. This one
will surely be around your house for years to come.
Eshay demonstrates an uncanny knack of bringing
the listener into his world through song and
emotionalism which the listener will have no doubt
believing that he is singing from experience.
Eshay takes a chance on this one and he and his
listeners win big. No samples, no gimmicks,
music done the old fashion way with strong and
meaningful lyrics and A+ production and
composition.
I believe I have finally heard someone special...

This cd is wonderful. Eshay has an outstanding voice. Anyone will stop and listen to a voice like his. Eshay makes an old woman feel young again. The younger generation will surely enjoy and appreciate the music that Eshay will be providing now and in the future.
