ABANDONED - CHAOS FROM BEYOND 7/10 - 2000This demo cd of Abandoned is indeed very interesting. Starting by the cover, you can already notice that this is an extreme band. And as soon as the cd starts playing, you realize that you were indeed right. Abandoned plays a nicely executed death/doom metal. It doesn't get boring at all. All seven tracks are great and unique in a way. Their sound is at the same level of other great bands from Sweden, what shows that the band is mature. However, even though this is a great album, with great musicians, sometimes the sound quality does get dissapointing. The production is good, but here and there you notice a flaw. Not much, but that sometimes can make a difference. Also, on some parts, the vocals' sound is lower than the other instruments, and that does take a little of the sound's shine. It's a great band and a great album. Great guitars, bass, drums and vocals. If you like death/doom metal, you will certainly enjoy this, especially tracks like "Foregathering", "As The End Falls" and "Intoxicants". (G.C) |
