Artist History
A.J. Bascom is a Freshman at Dartmouth College. He began his music career with several gigs around the Lakes Region of New Hampshire at the age of nine. Two summers ago, he created a CD, "The Tail that Wags the Dog," which was the best-selling album in New Hampshire on Mp3.com in July and August of 2000. After releasing "Snubbing the Subway" with Jillian Bennett as The Jaywalkers, the singing duo is now in the process of recording their second CD. Recent theatrical roles include Pony in Suburbia, Nick in Café Winnipesaukee (directed by Academy Award-winner Ernest Thompson), the lead guitarist and vocalist in STYX: The Grand Illusion, and Frank in Merrily we Roll Along.
Jillian Bennett's love for music began in the cradle when her parents would play her old 70's rock such as The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Steppenwolf. She has been singing ever since she could talk and began chorus in the second grade and earned the National Choral Award in 2000. Jillian's talents and interests do not stop at singing, however, as she has been invloved in countless theatrical productions (both professional and non-professional), dancing since the age of three, playing sax since the 5th grade, and even appearing in a few local commercials (both on radio and television). She is a Junior at Walnut Hill School of the Arts in Natick, Mass. |
