Artist History
Led by singer/songwriter Ryan Seitz. Divorcee mixes rock and roll, power pop, and solid melodic songwriting into a sound that is all their own. Seitz constructs his tales with the trained eye of a short-story writer, fusing them with his band's soulful melodies, sequencing, and classic Brit-pop guitar hooks.
Originally started in 2000 by seitz as a demo project to record his growing collection of songs, interest in the band was strong and Divorcee started playing live shows in the spring of 2001. The demo sessions were released as the bands first album, "Lovesick" in the spring of 2001. "Lovesick" enjoyed success on college radio across the country. It was the only independently released add to make the top 10 for the week of 8/26/2001 and charted in the top 30 at over 60 college stations nationwide.
Seitz and band are currently writing and recording new material in their hometown of Minneapolis.
