Artist History
Hailing from Bristol, UK, bushbaby have a sound that has been described as
"dark, punchy Britrock; full of melodic, shimmering hooks."
Mixing elements of grunge, metal and fizzy punk-pop, bushbaby have developed their own unique
sound ... with hints of the likes of Feeder, Bush, Creed and Terrorvision.
The band first gigged in the spring of 1998, and teamed up with producer Jez Coad to
record a 5-track EP in the summer. This generated much press interest, and radio play
throughout the UK, USA and Europe. Gigs then followed, both in the UK and in Europe.
1999 saw the band sign to US record label "Ionic Records / Massive Groove". Six more songs
completed their debut album, "MEDICINE", available on pre-release in the USA during 2000.
The band and record label later parted company due to lack of expected promotion.
2001 brought a determination by bushbaby that they would get a bigger and better deal.
Armed with Metal Hammer Magazine's "DEMO OF THE MONTH" accolade, the band secured a London management deal. Following this, they released their
debut album in the UK on the London-based "Organic" label. Titled "SPACE CORPS", the album
was a re-packaged version of the US release, featuring brand new artwork.
They are now definitely ready to be seen and heard by a much broader audience! |

Press Reviews
----- [[

solid enough debut." ]]
----- [[ Kerrang! Magazine (Dec 2001) :
"bushbaby sound at their best when they're an amalgam of Terrorvision and Spacehog, as on
the fizzy pop of the very fine title track. ... America will probably love them." ]]
----- [[ Metal Hammer Magazine "DEMO OF THE MONTH" (Sept 2001) :
"... this is quality grunge pop ... good catchy songs ... a big pop sound that you can't help but
get caught up in!" ]]
