Artist History
1990 first live performances in Greece, Austria and Germany.
1991 Music for "Onassis and Bloch",a high recommended play of Robert Quitta.
1993 Vancouver Folkfestival as members of "Lakis and Achwach".We performed the whole summer as a duo in California.
1995 release of our first album "Panorama" with many guest-musicians.Beside our compositions a lot of rebetiko and traditionals.
1997 we record in Athens our second Cd "Nostos" with greek top musicians and friends such as N.Karatzas and Th. Sofras.
1998 Marios and Julie Kompania plays also at the "Donainsel Festival"
1999 "From Smirni to Pireas": a programm with some of the nicest rebetiko songs
Workshop together with the "Wiener Tschuschenkapelle" in the Summer-Academy of Zakynthos in Greece.
Recording for the Film "Absurdistan".
2000 Workshop with greek songs, rhythms and dances in Zakythos
2001 Recording of "Marios & Julie Live", which will be released in September.
"10 years Marios & Julie concert" in sold out Metropol Theater in Vienna.
"From Homer to Kazantzakis":greek poetry and composers.Performance in the Austrian National Library.
Music to the presentation of the I. Karystiani's novel "Little England".
September 2001 the third album of Marios & Julie will be released.
Two new projects are planed: "Songs from Vienna" (Wiener Lieder)and "greek poetry and music" |
