Artist History When the powerful words soul singer are mentioned, rarely is it in present tense. When mentioning Kevin Mac, those words are followed by many other words of respect and admiration. His crisp, fluid, vocals that can complement the bouncing beat of a hip-hop track or equally mold to the sultry chords of a smooth R&B track. This singer/songwriter can belt out vocals strong enough to turn any track into a classic. It was at an early age that Kevin began showing signs that singing was second nature to him. At church his raw hymns would insight tears and pure silence among the congregation. He secured the lead in every school musical, his audition was not needed. As a member of his school chorus ensemble, his solos were demanded. After high school, Kevin joined the group PRS-7 based in Springfield, MA. The group enjoyed local success. PSR-7 burned houses down during their talent show days. Radio promo ads followed with request for an actual single for radio listeners. That landed PRS-7 on Showtime At The Apollo. They began opening for various artists across the southeast. During a stop in Atlanta, PRS-7 was approached by several producers who wanted to work with the band. Kevin returned, found his niche in songwriting and pursuing a solo career. Kevin has a current single I Want You, which displays his raw vocal talent, songwriting ability, and a dirty south street sensibility. The songs as with all his production, blend the street, the jeep and the bed-sheets. Influenced by the sounds of such artists as Babyface, Donny Hathaway, Sam Cooke, Howard Hewett, and Luther Vandross. K-Mac ( as he is called in industry circles) has the skill as a singer and songwriter to take on new heights. He is becoming known as a one-stop-shop of sorts, even dabbling in producing.
