Artist History Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Maryen migrated to Australia aged 8. She played piano and acoustic guitar and wrote her 1st song at age 13. She went to London for a 3 week holiday and stayed for several years. During this time she recorded 2 albums entitled "The Pictures Within" and "For Eternity" on the American label Progressive International, released in 1992 and 1994 respectively. The singles off these albums were "Too Young To Die" and "Breaking" and videos were produced for both these tracks. Maryen worked with many other artists whilst based in London, including Fish, Jon Astley and Adrian Borland (under the name Thorn). She supported acts as varied as The Troggs, Fish, Energy Orchard, Desmond Dekker, Sarah Jane Morris and UFO. Maryen created www.SydneySongwriters.com in 2002, and this purely acoustic songwriters night led the way to her recording her new totally acoustic album, STORIES FROM BENEATH, in 2003.
