Staunton native and long-time resident Patricia "Patsy" Anne Rutherford Miller expired May 17, 2001 at about 8 PM CST in Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma with a pair of sighs. she'd had a stroke in October and was diagnosed with cancer just before Mothers Day, foregoing chemotherapy. She was the daughter of Dr. James Coyner and Harriett Becker Rutherford of Staunton, both deceased. She took a fine arts degree from Mary Baldwin College in 1955 with a piano major and voice minor, teaching privately for 15 years. She was a deacon, sung in the choir and taught Sunday school at First Presbyterian Church. She once played on the same bill with the Statler Brothers and went on in bluegrass music with the Cross Timbers Ramblers of Norman, Oklahoma playing guitar, autoharp and singing. In her 66 years, she was a sparking human being, touching the lives of many and continues to dwell in the souls of those she influenced. She is survived by her husband Bill of Norman (Retired Mfg.
