PRESS COVERAGE
Brooklyn resident and entertainer Debi Jordan sang her way onto the "Wheel of Fortune" game show.
Will she be singing a happy tune when the show airs on March 5, 2002?
Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion, as they say in the television business.
Jordan taped the show last week and said she did very well and had a lot of fun.
"I got to meet Vanna (White) and Pat (Sajak) before the show," Jordan said. "Vanna came to our dressing room before the show wearing sweats, had no makeup on and had her hair pulled back.
"She's a tiny thing, mabye 5-foot-1 and barely 100 pounds."
Jordan earned a chance to be on the show earlier this year at an audition for the television station WDIV in Detroit. The local singer and songwriter made up a song about the host at the audition to garner attention.
She did have an opportunity to sing on "Wheel of Fortune" during the taping.
"That was so totally cool of them," Jordan said. "I also taped a commercial for WDIV Channel 4 telling local viewers to tune in and watch me play."
She was closest to Sajak during the taping and chatted with the host during the taping and the breaks.
"He is very nice and very funny."
Jordan had her Aunts from New York and Florida in the audience.
"It is good to have someone to run up on stage when you hit that big $100,000 prize at the end of the show," Jordan said. "OK, I didn't win THAT prize, but that is all I am telling you.
"You will have to watch the show on March 5 if you want to know more."
Jordan said the journey to Los Angeles was as much an adventure as the taping of the show. She took a train and during the ride she saw three herd of antelope, a family of bald eagles, a herd of mustang and a few wild turkeys.
